I have been told modern automatic gearboxes are sealed for life?

Some manufacturers did lead people to believe that automatic gearbox oil was for life, sadly this approach saw the premature demise of many automatic gearboxes. All automatic gearboxes should have their oil changed every 50 to 70,000 miles.
Will new oil improve performance?

Yes new oil will help as oil degrades with use, and modern gearboxes rely ever more on the oil to carry out tasks of lubrication, clutch application and cooling. At CCM we only ever use the highest quality oil at the correct grade for your application.
Why change the filters?

As oil degrades and particles from wear and tear are created, we do not want these to be trapped and retained. The vehicles oil filter will happily handle this job but eventually will become clogged by deposits and will need changing.
